Thanks for the update, though that's a bummer for you. Don't you just hate CVs
Hope you're on the road and back into the action again soon.
As for the trip, you(or at least Chris with the Spot) made good time along the Old Coach Road considering the size of your group.
I'm looking forward to hearing all of those tales of damage
Old Coach RoadThis track is a MUST DO and the high light of the adventure for me! Walks all over the OTL in scenery and ever changing contrast; almost paved tracks carved into the mountain slope, how they ever built this trail is beyond me.
The track is about 60 K in length, it took 8 hours to cover the track from Ida Mine to the Jowalbinna Safari Camp, hill climbs that just kept climbing and climbing. In some parts I was running along the ridge line heading west to look over and see others in our group heading west on another ridge line only 100 or so metres away.
One other group reported taking 1 ½ days to complete the same track, It’s simply goes to show the determination of our group in repairing washouts and rebuilding some of the track along the sandstone escarpments
Sorry about the damage report I’ll leave this to the others to report on, however the only problem I had was losing a shackle pin from my recovery receiver.
Regards, Chris.
