Hi from Melbourne also
« on: May 07, 2014, 01:13:33 PM »
Hi all from Melbourne. I'm still building the tow car for my camper trailer and still planing the trailer itself. Were a single income family so anything "luxury" is usually built. I have a fair compliment of tools and the know how so I will be tackling a couple of trailers from scratch a 6x4 first to make sure that all my design and welding is up to par. After that I'm wanting to do a side fold hard floor camper, weight will be an issue for my build as my towing capacity is 1500kg. This means that 3d drawings need to be done first so my material choices can be made. So while its too cold and wet to be working on the car I am idea farming and designing. That endeavor led me to find this website and I'm impressed with some of the work and the ideas I've not found anywhere else. I will get some pics up as my design and build progresses

HI guys thanks for the welcome

A screen shot of my early design not too many changes from these, Im not good enough to model everything so some is not my work, which will be obvious

Im still doing the plan with better dimensions, just finished the 1st part of the frame

tent part requires imagination on these pics

Welcome to myswag.  CT build looks interesting.  Hop over to "My Camper Trailer" in the Technical section and start a thread on your build.  Look forward to seeing and reading more.

Happy camping

Geez when you said "building a tow car" I thought you meant adding a bullbar and some AT tires, not actually building building.  Good luck although you probably don't need it.  Are you going to add a build thread for your hilux in the 4WD section?
