Ute mounted KK
« on: July 12, 2013, 06:32:08 AM »
Hi Swaggers ,  I'm not sure about this post Mod's , so if it's outside the rules scrap it ..

I made a dash to Kans yesterday morning to get the sheets of cladding for my canopy and sitting in the HUGE ferry que waiting to go north I spotted this heavily modified Toyota with a Kimberly Kamper on the back.
I lifted this pic from the web site for this company ..

Now in my opinion this rig is extremely ugly , I like the concept but not the execution of this project. The extended chassis would make it all but useless in a real 4x4  situation I feel . I can see it bellied out very easy ..

This rig is available for hire in Cairns ...
Link to the hire company http://www.captainbilly4wdhire.com.au/kimberley-bush-kamper.html

No affiliation , just saw it and thought I would share ..

cheers

KingBilly

Agree, interesting concept but ugly and not very functional as a 4X4.

Hey GeeTee, looks like they copied a good thing  ;D ;D ;D

Not my cup of tea BUT everybody has their own views on how they want to travel. I suppose that as long as they are out there "living the dream" that is all that matters.

We saw one in Coen on  last years Cape Trip. I think the chasis was bent.

We saw the same one when we were at the tip. They parked next to us on the beach.

Looked to me like they'd hit the brakes a bit too hard..... ;D ;D ;D
