Swaggers,
Thought I would fill you all in on a 'few' issues I have had in the past 6 months with my local Jayco Dealer.
Purchased a brand new Outback Hawk last yr. Great service (at the time) and a great camper.
- After using it for the first 6 mths I found out they 'forgot' to register it.
- One of the front boot locks broke so I took it back to the dealer so they could be replaced along with a few other minor warranty issues. After picking it up and being told the new keys for the locks were inside the camper, we took it home and put it away till we intended to use it again. We moved house (a considerable distance) in the meantime and when I opened the camper up I realised they had not left me the keys. I rang them and they insisted they were left inside. I politely told them otherwise and after looking for 2 days they apparently found them in the workshop so they mailed them out. 3 days later I receive them and surprise surprise they are not the right ones. I ring them and they tell me I need to bring the camper in to have the locks refitted. Another argument as I now live 600km from where I purchased it. I try to reason with them that I will take it to my now local dealer however that dealer informs me they will only do it if the original dealer pays for it, of course they refused. End result being they mailed out the new locks and keys for me to install myself!
- when I purchased the camper I paid extra for the battery to be installed. Stupid me should have checked when we picked it up but never thought of it. For whatever reason I check it after we move and surprise surprise there was a battery box with no battery. After they insisted they gave it to me and I politely told them that they didn't I had the same drama again regarding picking it up. Obviously it could not be posted and they refused to refund me the difference so I could by one from the local dealer. Thankfully a friend was driving through and grabbed it for me.
Forgot to mention the bag awning was on back the front and I had to install the eyelet holes for the poles as they 'forgot'.
Worst after sales service I have ever come across, worst dealership of any new product I have come across. I am in the process of writing a letter to Jayco head office.
Rant over...
