Hi from the ACT
« on: April 19, 2013, 05:59:22 PM »
Hi all

Just joined.  Hanging out for 13/9. This is the day I will retire. Yes day before federal election - whoopee. Won't have to handle a change of goverment.
Plans are to get rid of my loyal Honda Euro and pick up a 2008-09 Prado 120 and equip appropriately and a second hand hard floor camper. Then off for a test camp down the coast and then out to the Flinder's Ranges for 4 weeks.

I have been prowling this site, Pradopoint and ExploreOz for the pastfew days and weeks and have learned so much.

Interesting to see Mark (MDSimpson) active on PP and here. Met him whenj we both were mods on a photogrpahy forum. He does get around!

G'day from another Canberran. Hope you enjoy the forum.

There are a few of us around here.

My number one tip for buying a camper is to hire one first.  We hired a Tvan and a Johnnos locally and learnt from both.

Take next Friday off and do a four day weekend. Hire a camper and see what you like or hate.

Welcome aboard and good to see another from the area.  I retired last year and love it and have travelled a fair bit since.  Big trip this year and next, got to wear out the Cruiser and Goldstream before I get too old ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to MySwag, keep researching and asking questions, you will narrow it down to 5 or 6 campers in the end

Welcome.  Prado is a respectable choice.  Mate of mine took his up to Cape York on the OTT.  Had the least amount of problems.
