CT Insurance
« on: March 29, 2013, 09:19:25 AM »
Hi guys,
After a bit of advice.  I have just ordered a CT and now have the task of getting insurance.  From the quotes I have at the moment,  the insurance companies want more to insure the CT than my 4WD to insure.  Can anybody suggest an insurance company that is reasonable in price and coverage?
Thanks,
Bart

Used CIL inthe past but their premiums went up way too much, ended up with AAMI and enjoyed multi policy discount, ended up about $150 cheaper!

Bart, there have been a couple of good threads on this recently.  This was one of them.  (We went with QBE)

I work for a company that is an agent for CGU. I went with them because they were the cheapest & I could be sure I knew I was comparing apples with apples! PM me if u'd like a quote. No guarantee's. Just personal experience .

I looked at CGU as we have farm cover with them, but I was worried about some of their policy wordings. I also did not check the cost of their cover as I thought they would be expensive as I did have all of our vehicles them but they increased the premiums a lot a few years back so I changed companies.
I was concerned about this wording –
What we will not pay for
Damage to an annexe made of canvas, vinyl or fabric, when both of the following apply:
The annexe is more than 5 years old.
The damage is caused by storm or hail.
Damage to any floor coverings in an annexe made of canvas, vinyl or fabric.
Burglary or theft of your contents that are in your annexe.
Our camper is older then 5 years, so that was an issue.  Not saying they are not a good company, as I said we have our farm insured with them.

I have just signed up with CIL.  Comparative with all other quotes and camper specific insurance.
