Wet Floor In The Jayco

hello everyone, I left the eagle up over night and we had a good sort of a storm in brizzie. When we went out to fold it up this morning the floor around the door was wet, now do we have a leaking door or would it be possible for the wind to have blown the rain through the door vent. Nothing else seems to be wet so I dont think it came from the roof section. Your thoughts would be greatly accepted on this matter. Regards Bill

Hey bill, I would suggest it came through door vent. I find that if I hose that area when cleaning it gets a little water.

Considering the wall in my dunny got wet (and it's on the wrong side of the house), I'm surprised it's just the floor.  That wind was rather whippy last night.  Great light show though.

Could be through the door, could also come in through the telescopic lifters, I was surprised when
I had to remove the fridge in my finch to discover there is nothing to prevent water that gets down
between the telescopic sections entering the camper, it merely seems to drain out the bottom of the lifting
mechanism. Jayco high tech solution seems to be to run a bead of silicon around the mechanism on the floor
to act as dam and drill a small hole to left the water drain away. If you van is not level or the hole has become
blocked it water be quite possible for the water to overflow the bead.

It happened to me as well so I watched where it came in and found that if the camper was slightly higher on the door side the water would pool on the sill outside and run in where the canvas meets the door frame and comes in through a small gap there. Just make sure when you level the camper to have the door side slightly lower so the water runs off the sill. Or put a blob of silicon on the little gap.
