Need help identifying snake...

With all the wet weather around of late, we have a little visitor hanging around the back door and in the carport.
Does anyone know what type of snake it is?

It's got a yellowish belly ... and it's black        I wouldn't be giving it a kiss or a massage that's for sure. 

Even the "harmless" ones still bite ...

G'day Kit_e,
We have Red Bellie Blacks around the house at times, as well as a Python that spend time on the roof under the Solar panels and on the grass near the bank of shrubs by the shed. We also have three families of Blue Tongues that live around the house in varied places, sometimes in the horse feed shed, I know Fysh has come across one of them by the squeal that comes from the shed 
A fortnight ago, I was checking the fuel filter on the cruiser and the little buggar coiled around my ankle and slithered across my bare feet.
It wasn't aggressive towards me at all, Just after the above picture was taken I got a broom stick and was able to pick it with it and walked way over into to the paddock were there is a big pile of old branches, haven't seen it since.

Poor little bugger was last seen trying to get ya toejam off his little face.

My bet is an Olive tree python.

Dont know much about tropical snakes, but no such thing as a true "Yellow Bellied" Black Snake. Red Bellied, yes.

Green Tree snakes apparently have many colour variations. Do a google image search on them.

I had an interesting experience while fishing last weekend with snake identification.
Son said He saw a brown snake drop off the riverbank near where we were in our boat. As it started to then swim toward us, I saw dark stripes on it's 1.5m+ side and thought sh1t - tiger snake!!!
As I was wrestling it away from coming on board the back of our boat using the long handled landing net, I clearly saw the diamond pattern on it's back and thought Ok, maybe diamond python?

Everyone nearby roared with laughter watching me wrestle a 1.5m snake of whatever kind away from the back of my boat.
Took a few minutes but I won eventually and it swam off to the other bank, while I then changed my boxers.

Moral to story? Not sure, just lucky that son saw it fall in the first place as it could have easily snuck up and in the boat before we realised-----------

Kayaking at Walker Flat on the Murray on one of the nice warm back waters, a brown snake swam over the front of the kayak as I was slowly paddling along.

Had to wash the kayak out later, and let just say the water was a little bit browner than usual afterwards.

When i helped out at our aged care facility i spotted the curtains move in the dining room when i investigated i found a Brown snake behind them it was in  the dining room all the residents were seated for breaky.Well i couldnt say to much for they would have panicked i kept an eye on it till the other nurse came back and gestured to her whispering theres a brown snake behind the curtain,well she shouted snake all the residents jumped up i quickly took control and had them all move to the otherside of the room.I then found one of those long handled dust pans and the broom which after a few attempts managed to secure it on the dustpan scurried outside and off it went.The residents were that hyped up and excited they didnt stop talking about it for two days.I then had to front the facility manager because as we all found out there was a snake policy, yeah ok i should have just left it to crawl all over the 20 odd residents.

I had an idea it was a python, just wasn't sure which type.
So I went and  Google it
This would explain it's temperament.
