Albury caravan and camping show
« on: January 29, 2013, 04:45:21 PM »
Hi just wanting to know if anyone can give me any info on the Albury caravan/camping show as in is it worth the trip to get there do they have a lot of stalls and good deals etc in the past have been to Melb, Adel, Bendigo and last year Wodonga.  The first 3 were quite big shows took all day to get around and had a fair bit of things to see, Wodonga had some bad weather dont know if that impacted it but it was a bit smaller few less stalls.  Just trying to decide if we to go to Albury or wait till the Melb one in March.

Last year at the wodonga one, it was SHOCKING weather. The mud was over ankle deep and a PITA to navigate.
It had around 90 stall cancellations due to the weather and conditions of the ground. In saying that they did have some ripper deals going.
The albury one is supposed to be a big one this year. If you end up going let me know I'll shout you a  while your up.

Yeah we made the trip to the Wodonga one DannyG gave us the tickets he won and yep sure was muddy and people whinging at the guys who had to park the cars that they didnt want to walk through the mud to get there blah blah blah.  But was not alot to see and I can imagine they lost stalls at that one.  Will have a chat to the BF see what we have on and have to check if it is a weekend I work.

Cheers Renee

Usually go up to Albury for a squizz, but its only an hour up the track got us. Its not huge, usually spend a couple of hours there. From memory, last time we went there would have been 6 or so CT manufacturers there, as well as a similar number of Van suppliers.  A few 4WD suppliers  also in attendence.

Then perhaps 30 plus trade stall holders, but not a huge number of outdoor goods suppliers like at Flemington.

Would I drive 3 plus hours from Melb, or more from Sydney?  Perhaps not worth the effort IMO, but hey, if you combine it with a weekends sightseeing @ Beechworth/Bright  or winery visiting @ Rutherglen, anythings possible.

Yeah we are maybe 1 & 1/2 hours to there and can always include a trip to hogsbreath for lunch or tea depending on how long you are there :) I know when we last went to caulfield it was massive a few years ago now and took all day to see it all and we didnt look at many of the vans as they were not what we wanted and have the ct now.  I mean we could always go to both but then you spend more $$$$$ will see how we go leaning towards Albury as a better drive than Melb too

My BT50 is having some goodies fitted by ArB Albury on that Friday so it'll be a good excuse to have a look at a few CT's.
