Renewing your Qld rego while travelling
« on: January 19, 2013, 10:17:17 AM »
Has anyone found it difficult to pay their Queensland vehicle registrations while on the road.  We tried to pay ours early, but Qld Transport said only 6 weeks prior to the due date.  Qld Transport will not allow an auto debit set up either.  I got no idea why.  Every other bill we need to pay we have direct debits set up.   (We have in the past had our mail collected and paid our rego when it has come.)   Kevin

In the past when I did lose a Qld Transport renewal notice, I rang them and they gave me the numbers needed (ie the 6 month or 12 month payment reference number) and then paid it over the phone by credit card or by online banking.  Or get someone to collect the mail and sms you the relevant payment reference number.

Hi, when we are travelling and the rego is due, what we do is ring up Qld transport, get them to give us the numbers and then pay by internet banking.

They are rather stupid in not allowing you to pay early. You would think that they would be happy to take your money, but alas....

thats the Qld government for you

You can pay at any Post Office.  ;)
