I have stayed in the Hilcrest park many times, Glad I wasn't there this time. Thoughts and prayers to all concerned.

Thanks for that.

My family have a holiday shack up there. We can not get there and have been struggling to get any information on possible damage.

The house is on the southern end of burrum so should have escaped.

Agree, it is a special place on the coast and I think the road to there is still closed.  It was hard to get much detail on the news as we get a lot of what is happening in Brisbane up here, not much local stuff.    Kevin

Wow, what a mess.  Hope there were no injuries.  Best wishes to all up there.

My dad lives in Burrum Heads and lost power when the tornado hit a couple of days ago, he still had phone until yesterday ( Monday ) morning but it droped out about the same time that the sewage stopped working. His house was just above the water but the houses either side of him had about 2in of water in them ( their all high set ). He lives at the end of Burrum St near the dead end opposite the ocean.

He's been living there for about 28 years and has never seen so much water in front of his house, the entire end of the street was one big lake. I've just tried again to ring but still no service, hopefully whey'll be dack on the air by tonight !
