Gas Problem
« on: January 09, 2013, 09:33:06 PM »
I have a gas problem (yes I am ready for the replies).  I have a wild country 2 burner + griller.  Can it be connected to a long extension and a regulator so that the gas bottle stays on the side of the camper (like I see with the Lido Stove)?  It does have a different fitting than my el cheap Aldi bbq (eg: webber rip off) which works with the regulator and extension lead - so I know I have gas coming through.  However when I connect the Wild Country - nothing when  I put the match to it.

I have heard the Lido is a low pressure and the Wild country is not, although I am not sure what this really means.

Is anyone aware of any other brands other than Lido that might do the trick if I have to go and buy a newie?

Have you tried connecting the stove directly to the gas bottle without the regulator. It sounds like you have the type of stove that doesn't require a regulator. The regulator will reduce the pressure too much.

You are correct on the 2x pressures.

Speak to Kiwi, I had this issue with mine when he did the gas setup.. nothing would happen with portable stove.

thus why I got the kitchen done.
Your welcome to drop by again and look at my kitchen he built.

I would have to agree with Lost on this one.

But, as an extra, ditch the wild country and get yourself a primus. Worth the extra dollars to save all the hassles and changes of jets and other annoying sh!t.
