We were lucky in that we could see it from our place - unlucky in that for the main show we had cloud cover. So we missed totality, which was a shame. Still, I managed to get some piccies of the initial and after stages, which made climbing onto the roof worthwhile.

Cloud cover beforehand:

Shadow cast over the mountains:

Just the start:

Edging towards 2nd contact:

Beginning of totality - was yelling at the clouds by now:

Just after 3rd contact:

So there you go - that was the view from our roof at 6:38am today. Still pretty happy that we saw what we saw. Considering it's bucketing down outside at the moment, I think we were lucky to get the show that we did. Certainly an eerie experience. Friends of ours have some photos of the total eclipse, I'll see if I can get a copy to post up.

Cheers,
Matto :)

I drove down to the Mareeba airport, it was great, no clouds and we got a perfect view. Bonnie had to stay here, it was overcast but it went into total darkness anyhow for the eclipse.

Thanks for posting pics. They turned out pretty good for being taken from the roof.

Our neighbour came over and sat with us.
She got some fantastic  pictures that I will post as soon as she gives me copies.

Hi Tina,

You might want to clean your camera lens, there is a big black spot in the middle of the lens stopping us from seeing the beautiful photo of the sun. ;D ;D ;D ;D

See you and David soon at Woodleigh.
