NRMA CT Insurance
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:07:12 PM »
Just received a quote for my CT Insurance from the NRMA before i go and get my CT and tow it home .One thing i found is that they give you $1000 automatic contents insurance but then tell you that because its canvas the contents is not insured .I found if i wanted say my Engel or Honda Genny insured  while it was with the CT that it had to be done thru my household Contents insurance with portability coverage. The other interesting cover is when they put you up for a certain amount of time in motels etc if you cannot stay in your CT,but this only applys if the CT is damaged some way so you cant stay in it ,if your camper is stolen that doesnt apply, doesnt make sense to me.

Try GIO, In my case $100 cheaper than NRMA and $4000 cover for contents (you have to ask for the 4k cover, same price)

Wow just phoned CIL and tthey were same as NRMA in price i then phoned GIO they are the way to go $100 cheaper $4000 worth of contents cover ,they also cover your say Engel Fridge and Honda Generator which are the costly items you would be worried about inside the annexe and 15days accomodation at $100 a day paid to you in the event of you not being able to use your CT.The others were 7 days.

Thanks for the heads up mate
Cheers

We're with NRMA have had a major claim with them in the past which was handled fast with no stress or out of pocket expence so I dont like changing, but I'm sure if you call them and say GIO have x then they will price match.

What I'm saying is you dont need to jump from insurer to insurer to get the best price, in my experiance is just shop around find the best price and ring your prefered insurer, 9 times out of 10 they'll match or in some cases beat it by 10% or whatever.
