Rego inspection required for CT's?

Hi Folks,
The CT is coming up to 3 years old and I was wondering if I need to take it for a rego inspection after 5 years like other registered vehicles?
If so do you just take it to a normal inspection place for motor vehicles?
I'm in NSW and the trailer is 850kg and braked.

Firstly your rego renewal will state whether an inspection is required or not.
If yes, then just take it to any place that does PINK slips.

Anything over 750 kg atm needs a rego inspection in NSW. I was told by a rep from the RTA that any trailer over 5 years old needs one but the 30 year old rust pile in dads hay shed (it used to be a box trailer) has never had one and is still registered.

If it has brakes it needs inspection. No brakes no inspection

Blue Bravo, My camper has no brakes and 750 atm and requires a yearly inspection in NSW, the explanation given to me was it was over 5 years old when transferred to NSW rego and all trailers over 5 years old will require inspection, But the 30yo box trailer we own has never needed inspection so I dont understand what the rule is, possibly my camper was flagged as it was transferred from another state some time ago.

Most vehicles more than five years old must pass an annual safety check, trailers weighing less than 250kg do not need to be inspected

Singo, I'm guessing your Dad's "30 year old rust pile" carries over from regulations that were around when the Ark was built, making it exempt!

I have two trailers. One is my CT, which has brakes and inspection is required. The second is registered as handmade, is under 800kg and does not have brakes. Inspection is not required for this trailer.

Our Trackabout [GVM 750kg with brakes] need an inspection from day one, Our ModCon [1250kgs & braked] does not at least so far....Not sure why but I'm not complaining... Both 1st registered in NSW & both weighed in NSW eventhough both were built in Qld

IMHO I believe that having Off Road in the manufacturer's specs has  a lot to do with it.
