Hey Mods ----------------

Shouldn't this be in the JOKE section  ???

That is utterly ridiculous.
Obviously someone in council was running low on stocks of red tape, so they ordered a sh1teload more.........

Surely they've got better things to do?
Just deal with the neighbours complaint, find some sort of resolve and let life be.

Alternatively get a bunch of swaggers to camp along the fenceline and give a helping hand >:D >:D >:D

Take the time to read the articles before commenting. Seems like council and berrima had a three year agreement in which time they would apply for planning approval. Seems like a neighbour has engaged solicitors to force council to act now. Seems like it was discussed in closed session so their is no way of knowing what is going on behind the scenes.

Generally prior use, provided you haven't stepped outside that prior use, is looked upon favourably with planning. (Generally of course :). )

Best of luck berrima. Most of the time you do good work and do it with style.

I have read numerous articles and know a lot of people involved with it.
That's why I think its such a joke.

If it had have been handled appropriately at the start it wouldn't have gone this far.

Council could have acted in the earlier stages, but chose not to.
Once the legal avenue was entered it is out of their hands.

I just feel a bit annoyed that it got so out of hand.
A legitimate business, been there for years and they have to deal with this.

I wish them all the best luck too. They deserve it.
Hopefully common sense will prevail.

I guess the council could have stuck their noses in earlier but the business also needs to shoulder some responsibility too. They would be well aware of what regs relate to the site they are located and if they have complied with everything then they will be okay. Let's hope it works out amicably and they can continue to trade

Something that I was told at work is that planning appeals to the state are at the cost to council even if they win. Maybe that's just tas though.
