Old out board fuel
« on: September 10, 2012, 08:15:42 PM »
Living in Vic we don`t get an endless time that we can use our boats, so my question is how do you get rid of old out board fuel, it will only last 3 months and as it is mixed with oil it is useless for anything else. i have asked at the local recycle center and they wont take it, pouring it down the drain is of course strictly a big no no, and 20lt is allot to dispose of any ideas ??

Lawn mower or chain saw? I put mine through my work ute (Hilux). Put it in first and then complete the fill from the bowser. I don't normally do more than 5ltrs at time so sometimes it takes a couple of fills.

I used it as weed killer on the lilydale toppings, cheaper than roundup but smelt a bit :)

I used to put 6 month old fuel in the wifes car diluted about 1:3

Never had any problems

Burning is fun though.....

Had 5 years in Lithgow & never had any issues using it after winter [Easter to October] in the lawn mower but did drain the mower tank after it's last cut.

The local mower dude might like it.   Or stick it in your mower and duck round and mow the local scout groups yard.  OR give it to the local firies for their containment line back burning ... OR make new friends by burning down a local icon?

Endless possibilities.
