We've done the same sooty (btw that was the name of my very first kat ... ) and taken an extra day for our long weekend.  It'll be our longest time under canvas since we've purchased (yeah bit slack I know ... but we are weekend warriors okay?! )  Hope the tent goes well for you LB as it seems retirement is imminent for the poor old bugger.

Thanks Kit_e,

This is a short stay for us, only 4 nights. We usually try for 5 nights but that is usually over Easter.

I am frustrated because the daughter wants to take the dome tent for her and her cousin, instead of the touring tent which would take me 1/4 of the time to setup.

Yes good to have a 4 days off hey, our first cat was Sooty too (BLACK) but mine comes from my favourite fish the "Sooty Grunter"

Isnt it great, the Guvmint made a long weekend for my birthday  I will be sitting on Teewah Beach listening to (hopefully) Storm beating Canterburied  ;D eating a lamb roast or a thai green curry stir-fry with beers wine and Jackies.Ah its a great life, as a great man wrote "you wouldnt be dead for quids". RIP Bob Barrett. Everyone have a good weekend, I wont think of you unless I see you.

wooohooo we have 4 days off to, the camper is already packed, heading up to coloured sands beach for 4 glorious days  :cheers: new camp chair to test out, myswag stubbie holder ready for my nice cold can, myswag sticker pride and place on the camper :) ahhhhhhh 

Bob Mac Jnr might see you up that way. :)

hope all that are getting to have a long weekend and getting away have safe travels.

No long weekend for me. Ive asked to work the public holiday......Much rather have a long weekend camping after the school holidays when it's not so busy ;D

Thewife works Saturdays and Mondays is her normal weekend anyway,

I've got the bathroom in bits and Saturday we'll be without a shower for the weekend while in renovations. No weekend away for us while its our anniversary weekend.
Anyway, public holidays is a good time to stay away from the touristy spots and the hoards of crowds.
We don't hVe kids so the school holiday dramas don't really affect us either.
Those who are away, staysafe on the roads..... heaven knows there's enough idiots out there on the road at the best of times and even more on public holidays.

Our long weekned is going to be spent re arranging the garage for our CT we pick up next w/end....

Although the in laws have the two boys tonight, so the wife and I are going out on a date  :D, meal & movie, then golf tomorrow morning, first time on a course in about 4 years for me and 5 for my wife. Should be a lot of fun.

Hope everyone enjoys their LW....

as per kit e kat advice off to canungra show grounds for two nights. only a short stagger sorry i mean walk from the pub. 2 grand finals over 2 nights and a pocket full of winnings from the footy betting comp. ahhhh my head

Not going anywhere either here.

Have been everywhere already!  ;D

Just the past month...Grafton, Tamworth, Walgett, Warialda.

Two deployments for the Rural Fire Service. One trip for work.

Might have a day run over some local 4wd trails though.
