Fraser is amazing, well worth making the effort to get there. You can get across from Hervey Bay or further south at Rainbox beach. Or, travel up the Cooloola coast from Noosa Heads, which brings you to Rainbow Beach, then across to Fraser. You can book ahead but really it is just as easy to get all the permits at Rainbow Beach.
