Day 6 - Tuesday, 31 July 2012

Day 6

Whilst most MySwaggers were still sound asleep a group of extremely keen fishermen were up at 5am for an early fish which included Yogi, Craig (Bugone), Daz, Lockie (DaznBec – son), Ethan (Paul4Nat – son) and Paul.  For Lockie and Ethan’s effort of rising before dawn they were awarded a bait bucket each – top effort guys.  This morning we also saw BigJules, Laith and Bugone pack up camp and head off by 9am.  It was a nice relaxing morning with anticipation of the Seahorse Auction to take place at camp Yogi around 10.30am.  Before the auction commenced thanks to GLC the gentlemen were given tattoo sleeves and the ladies white cocktail gloves and this was the start of “The Fraser Cup” Tatts, Tiaras and Tutus which Theo (Jetcrew) took place as master of ceremonies and found his calling as an auctioneer, everyone agreed with his new calling and did an awesome job.  The Seahorses aka all the children were placed in the auction yard of Yogi’s annex and one by one was called up and auctioned to the highest bidder.  A few of the kids were concerned leading up to the auction that they were being sold.

Horse 1   Dylan (V8ute – daughter) successful bidder was Monique (V8ute)
Horse 2   Braydon (DaznBec – son) successful bidder was Daz
Horse 3   Mackenzie (Ute 701 – son) successful bidder was Ute 701
Horse 4   Natalie (Frostd – daughter) successful bidder was Terry (Frostd)
Horse 5   Jasmine (DaznBec – daughter) successful bidder was Bec
Horse 6   Kaela (Niley – daughter) successful bidder was Niley
Horse 7   Ethan (Paul4Nat – son) successful bidder was Paul (Paul4Nat)
Horse 8   Lockie (DaznBec – son) successful bidder was Christina
Horse 9     Alex (Ute 701 – daughter) successful bidder was Blueroo
Horse 10   Leeia (Paul4Nat – daughter) successful bidder was Nat
Horse 11   Demitri (Jetcrew – son) successful bidder was Lara (Larz n Crew aka Jetcrew)
Horse 12   Melissa (Frostd – daughter) successful bidder was Debbie (Frostd)
Horse 13   Bailey (Paul4Nat – son) successful bidder was Nat
Horse 14   Nait (DaznBec – son) successful bidder was Yogi

The excitement was in the air as everyone went off for some lunch and then to return to camp Yogi for the decorating of each Seahorse.  Yogi and Amanda had a range of streamers, balloons, hair colour spray and face paint, which the adults had fun decorating the kids.  Natalie and Melissa weren’t too happy that their parents were the successful bidders they would have liked someone else to be their owners.   Yogi calculated a system for the number of heats then the final.  Heat 1 was made of horses 1 to 5, heat 2 was made of horse 6 to 10 then heat 3 made of horses 11 to 14.  The race was nice a fair as we used dice, 1 was used for the horse number and the other for how many moves, in total the horse needed to move 20 spaces.  Once again Jetcrew called the race and did a great job and got everyone in the mood of the race, each race had a volunteer for each dice and a few kids needed a little assistance with counting.  The 2 winners of each heat would go through to the final.

Heat 1   1st place Dylan; 2nd place Jasmine; 3rd place Braydon; 4th place Natalie and 5th place went to Mackenzie.

Heat 2   1st place was Ethan; 2nd place was Lockie; 3rd place Alex; 4th place Kaela and 5th place went to Leeia.

Heat 3   1st place was Melissa; 2nd place was Nait; 3rd place was Demitri and 4th place went to Bailey.

Now the final .......... and it was a very close race:-

1st place   Jasmine
2nd place   Dylan
3rd place   Melissa
4th place   Nait
5th place   Lachlan
6th place   Ethan

After the race the winner being Jasmine won a Seahorse stuff toy and chupa chups also the horse owner won a First Aid Kit donated by GLC.  For the children’s participation each awarded with a bag of goodies, all the contents were donated by GLC and were enjoyed by each child.  Overall $238.00 was raised for RFDS.  All MySwaggers then came together around camp Yogi for happy hour and great conversation also the kids did their entries for the lolly jars all was followed by the daily draw of the fabulous donations.  Welding helmet (donated by Smoko) went to Nomad, 2 windup torches (donated by GLC) went to Jetcrew and Boo Boo, BCF voucher and stubbie cooler (donated by Paul4Nat) went to V8ute, bottle of Bundaberg Rum (donated by Nomad) went to Yogi and bottle of Bundaberg Five Rum (donated by Smoko) went to V8ute.  After dinner Yogi and Amanda visited Ramsey Street North and shortly after arriving had the excitement of scary off a dingo then to see eyes staring back at us from the hill when a torch was pointed in their direction.  Soon we settled down again and slowly each person wondered off to bed.  What another fantastic day on Fraser and didn’t have to venture far.

Another Day in Paradise ....

For those that are fans of my Flag Pole after the Sandy Creek Meet ,
You will be pleased to know I have added a few more flags to the line up .....
I was also at the southern end of the "Southern Downs : Prestige Acreage Living" .

Niley and BlueRoo were also members of the elite residential area ....

We then started the day with a drive up and down looking at the coloured sands .

But then the big event of the day was the Seahorse Racing .
It all started with the all important Auction , where you got a chance to own a Race Horse .
( I haven't laughed so much in ages ) .
Well done to JetCrew for being the Auctioneer ( he has definitely missed his calling ... )

Some people had their eyes on certain racers for sure .....

The Auction in full swing , with prices going higher and higher ....

Yogi finally broke his silence , with a little horse he had his eye on for a long time ....

And he outbid anyone for his choice ....

Then after getting horses decorated , the track was laid out and the racing began .
Pity about the strong head wind , but it was a great event , that brought the Nation to a standstill ....
Well the people that were trackside anyway !

A very happy winner of Heat # 1 .

The top 2 from Heat # 1 celebrate , knowing they get to start in the Grand Final .

Some of the outfits were outstanding ....

It was time for the Grand Final ...

The racing was extremely close ... Horse 5 is just in front , with horse 1 and 2 vying for second , and 4 and 6 still a chance ....

But there can only be one winner , and doesn't she love the cameras .... even a high five is done over the shoulder !!

The top three place getters in the 2012 Cup ....

All the Starters gather for a celebratory photo ( or three )

A truly great day , full of fun and laughs ..... Thanks Everyone !
