Overnight trips???
« on: April 18, 2012, 07:16:59 PM »
Hi guys and girls,

We bought our camper at the end of last year, drove it from Townsville to Perth (where we now live, and love the place), and have used it only once since we have been here.

I really want to get out and use it even if its just for an overnight trip.

So what I'm wondering is how many other people out there that have campers get away on the weekend even if its just for an overnight trip?? And if you are in Perth, where do you go??

Cheers guys :)

I try and go for at least a weekend every 6 weeks. I usually leave on a Friday arvo at about three so I can get two nights in.

I reckon you should just hook it up and go and have a look. Noe that your in a new place there should be heaps of exploring to go and do.

Go for it.

Cheers Nomad.

Ranger,

Ledge Point has some good camping and fishing up in the sand dunes only an hour North of Perth. Sandycape is 200k north of Perth. Great spot but you would want 2 nights. there is actually plenty of bush campsites north of Jurien Bay.

South there is great camping and and around Dwellingup, Harvey, Waroona etc... Wellington Dam and Honeymoon pools is also brilliant spot. All only 1-1.5 hrs from Perth.

Overnight weekenders is all I've done in mine since getting it almost a year ago. Haven't had time for anything else and haven't even had time to do that many weekenders either.

We joined a camping club in SA that has one weekend away per month.  While we cannot make all of the weekends, it is certainly an encouragment to go, compared to trying to find the time to go by yourself.
