Fight Against Track Lockouts - Free Our Bush
« on: July 24, 2012, 03:28:57 PM »
Hiya Guys

Craig and friends have kindly donated there time to organize a site to
protest about tracks that are being locked up at an alarmingly high
rate...Please find a few minutes to support the cause and send a message that we've had enough...It will only take a few minutes of your time to sign the Partition..Its Australia Wide not just N.S.W,So lets band together and send a firm message

Thankyou in advance..

After much longer than intended the Free Our Bush petition website is now live and receiving signatories.
For those of you familiar with the website concept sorry it has taken
sooo long, few hiccups with different things but thats another story.
Anyway it is now functional and ready for some of you guys to support
the cause. Send links of the website to anybody you think might sign.
Post up the link on any other forums in which you participate.
Have a good read throught the site and PLEASE contribute to the track
closures section. Lets not let the momentum slow down, lets build it
up and get as many signatures and as much interest as we can from ALL
users of our bush.

Towards the top of the home page you can see a reference to a Land
Management Inquiry which has been set up to look at the use of
"public" lands in NSW. The inquiry will accept its final public
submissions on the 3/8/12, less than 2 weeks, so the more signatures
we receive before then the better. Please send the inquiry a separate
private submission to broaden the effect.I will add more info as i get it.

Cheers
Craig

I clicked on the closures heading and its empty. Is there a list of closed and/or proposed closures available for viewing.

Its only fair that the Australian public has a voice and a choice, but with no information to digest how can one make an educated decision.
For example what is the percentage or proportion of closures against, for want of a better term, open areas, or limited access areas.
Are some areas deemed so badly damaged that the only remedy is to restrict entry totally, or partially.

Motor vehicles and other forms of traffic can at times cause extreme and sometimes irreversible destruction to our Australian bush. Sometimes its just a matter of closing off an area so that it has a chance to regenerate, and sometimes its far from that simple.

It a shame when the actions of a few peanuts destroy the fun for everyone else, and that statement can be applied on both sides of this argument. Unfortunately in most circumstances similar to this one the rules have to be enforced, simply because peanuts are stupid and never learn.

Bureaucracy can often go crazy, especially when the zealots take over the decision making. Lets hope sanity prevails in the end.

Cheers

Malcolm

I thought that was very poor, specially when 1/2 of NSW is already closed.
and is it for NSW? Qld? Vic? or....?

Who's Craig? Are we supposed to know?

Is it nationwide or just NSW?

How is the petition being delivered to the relevant people?

Hiya Guys

Will try and fill in the info...The site has been created by Craig at 4x4earth,born out of the fact that so many tracks are being closed Australia wide,Its an Australia wide thing and states this, the site has only gone live two days ago so basically its new,a few things needed ironing out...

Closures: Here you will find a list of gate closures as we find them. Do you know of a gate closed near you? Contact Us and tell us all about it and we will list it here.http://www.freeourbush.com.au/category/closures/page/2/

I told him i would post this up so if you would kindly email him with any questions...

Thanks for supporting this site...
