Kallim Affordable campers

Hi all,

We are looking to buy a Jayco Swan, but want to test one out first.
Local radio (Central Coast NSW) have been plugging Kallim Affordable campers, who happen to hire out the Swan, at what appears to be very reasonable prices.
My question for you, myswagers, is, has anyone used them before? If so, how was your experience?

The reason I ask, is, my wife is yet to be fully convinced we need one. We did not enjoy tent camping that much, and we hired a canvas camper which was much best, but still a few niggles for her, so the next option is a pop top and a Swan fits our family the best.

Me? I am happy with my on car awning and my swag....

I know what you are going through to keep SWAMBO happy.

I'd just say go ahead and hire one, but go to a couple of different camping spots too. I t might mean a couple of hire trips before you can convince "her".

If the Kallim people are good to deal with it might be worth talking about a discounted purchase price taking into consideration the hire fees.

I too, am happy in a swag. I've owned a (very old) Campomatic flip over Hard floor and an Ultimate. Both were great but just didn't quite encourage the Mrs to come camping. I am now building what I think should be referred to as a mini-caravan but I will still call it an offroad camper. It will be a constantly evolving situation when it comes to camping, at least that's what I reckon.

Thanks John, good to see I am not the only one.

I know I want a Swan, so that is what we will be hiring, but I'd still like to know if anyone has feedback on Kallim themselves.
They offer reasonable rates for hiring, but there seem to be some possible hidden costs.

By the way, this hire may not happen, I've emailed them multiple times and still no response..
