Tambo Crossing camping Omeo highway

Does anyone know of there is free bush camping near Tambo Crossing? Basically we're heading along The Haunted Stream and coming out at Mansfield (eventually). will be leaving Wednsday arvo and will have a late camp meeting up with others from Melbourne. The area would only need to fit 3 tents at this stage!

cheers Dave

You can camp on the Haunted Stream, there's two spots, Dawson City and one about along the track, both with plenty of room.

Thanks Redback, We would prefer to meet on the road before heading in as it would be dark for the guys coming from Melbourne. We will go to Dawson city and basically head across the Mitchell River National Park for a night crossing at Hortons Track before heading to the Pinnacles, descend Billy Goat bluff to Harry Smiths hut, across to Wonnongatta, Up Zeka spur and across the Bluff hut and will part company on Sunday.
