New Camper

G,day Guys,I,m hoping for some feedback on the quality of MARKET DIRECT CAMPERS.I believe they are manufactured  in OZ.Will be taking it up the GIBB RIVER RD and although I,m well aware of the road conditions I,m not sure of the campers .Cheers

I have the delux off road extreme, I think thats what its called.

As a basic camper for my family it works ok. I have dragged it from South West Rocks, up through to Agnes Waters and back again to Noosa. As well as other smaller trips. If you are going for one of these make sure you check it out before you buy. They sell / used to sell a Shiteload on ebay so you really want to go and look at what your buying before hand. The trailers are chinese imports and the same trailer can be seen on here in various threads, however it appears different importers carry out different amounts of work when they assemble them in OZ. For instance Aussie Blues one is very similar to mine except the draw bar and base are just bolted on. ( See this thread http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=14982.0 ) Where as the one I picked up from market direct is welded, I have rewelded the drawbar etc to strengthen it.

I am planning to do a trip in the next couple of months from Noosa out through Cararvon on to SWMBO's parents farm between Blackall and Barcky and then on to Winton to take my youngest to see the dinosaur tracks. So that will give it a pretty good work out, but I dont think I will see anything like what you see on the Gibb River Road in terms of conditions.

A good mate bought a market direct camper new from ebay, it's ok for the money but neither of us would consider towing it through roads like the gibb.

He's used it 5 or 6 times, for 2 to 3 days each and has already had the tent tear near the roof peak.

I'd really suggest having a look to form your own opinion as a second hand better built camper might save some headaches later.

Hi I recently brought a market direct camper 2nd hand of eBay I'm happy with quality of trailer early on I believe that like any of these budget models u need to consider beefing up welds and possibly suspension mounts before towing in more extreme conditions I've already done a upgrade to my drawbar to lengthen and strengthen it by welding 100x50 rhs down outside of existing drawbar and remounting tow hitch to lengthen drawbar by approx 170mm that's first of many minor upgrades I have planned. We have used it twice now and set it up half a dozen times I'm happy with tent and overall quality good luck and do your research cheers

Did u have a look at them , if so what did u think?
Weve had ours 12 months now and havnt had much trouble at all . Its great for us with basic camping and caravan parks , lots more comphy than a tent style camp.
