Fan - 12 volt
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:52:02 AM »
Hi, we have a a 12 volt Sirocco fan.  Has been great - draws little current, can set to turn off after 2/4/6/8 hours, three speed. Needed it yesterday when was 36 degrees.

Mostly run off 12 volts. Every now and then stay at a caravan park and would like to run the fan off mains power.  Does anyone have info on, or link to, a cheap converter with male mains plug on one end and female 12 volt plug on other end where can plug in cigarette lighter plug? I know there are lots of inverters that go the other way - 12 volt to mains power. On the road for six months we have not needed a 12v to mains inverter.  We do not run a generator.

Thanks

Just leave it on 12v and charge you battery in the caravan park

That way it's just like running on 240v

That's the way my system works also, I run everything off 12V, then when I plug into 240V, the ARB fridge automatically switches to 240V (It is always plugged into both 12V and 240V) and the Ctek M300 kicks on to top up the battery.
