Four planes are water bombing a large bush fire on Fraser Island that forced the evacuation of 50 people from their rooms at Kingfisher Bay Resort. The planes were called in after a helicopter crew completed a survey of the blaze but it is still not known how big it is.The fire broke out about 6.40pm yesterday near Kingfisher Bay Drive and Corn Wells Break Road on Fraser Island off the Queensland coast and is about 800m from the resort. One of the guests had to be treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance officers who have remained on the island on standby.Fifty people staying at the resort had to be moved to other rooms and 18 firefighters are battling the fire with some of them called in from the mainland last night.A dozer is currently being used to construct containment lines around a property located in the area and firefighters have been conducting backburning operations overnight.Read more: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/guests-evacuated-as-fire-rages-on-fraser-island-20111003-1l4as.html#ixzz1ZfW3zNkE
