An Intro From Spargs
« on: July 28, 2011, 08:51:44 PM »
Hi everybody, thought I would introduce myself.  Today I picked up my 1st CT, its a new custom built semi off road 7x4 tralier with a 9 foot tent with annex and awning, extended drawbar, checkerplate guards, stainless kitchen, the usuals like jerry can and gas bottle holders.  It was made a company called Zandona Trailers, and Im very happy with the build quality but I am very disappointed with the paint job they did, runs everywhere, but I didnt question it too much as they did look after me with the overall price, adding the checker plate guards, upgrading the tent from a 7 foot to 9 foot, extending the drawbar, fitting the box I supplied, upright spare wheel holder all for now extra cost, so overall im pretty happy.
This forum has been a great help for me to figure out what I wanted, how I wanted it.  During the build I purchased a deep cycle battery, battery smart charger, battery monitor and some cig lighter sockets so that along with installing a water tank will be 1st on the to do list, along adding some 150mm PVC pipe at front of tralier, I had the tool box mounted alllowing enough room between front of trailer and the box.
Cant wait to get out and use it and see more of this awesome country.

Cheers Spargs

Cheers fo the welcome, Iv got a GQ Patrol 4.2 with 33's, lift, winch etc etc.  Was really happy with how it pulled it home yesterday, although I think trailer brakes will be on the card in the very near future.

I think trailer brakes will be on the card in the very near future.

At some point you'll need to load it up with all your camping gear and get it onto a weigh bridge. I was really surprised when I did it with my old CT ... just under a ton with no brakes.

Welcome to the forum!

Cheers

Finally had our 1st trip away in our CT, headed to Daylesford (Jubilee Lake).  Greatspot, CT went very well, very happy.  Still need to mount water tank underneath (open to suggestions on how you have done this), need a longe gas hose to reach stove and a way to fix tailgate/kitchen open, again open to ideas here.
Cant wait to get away again.
Cheers Spargs
