Camper Servicing or Repairs in Brisbane
« on: August 07, 2011, 06:44:44 AM »
Hi all

Need to get the Goldstream serviced before some longer trips. Service brakes and bearings and add a few things like gas bottles to the drawer bar and additional external gas bayonet.

Can anyone recommend a firm on Brisbane's northside to perform this work.

Thanks

GS

Mate give Andrew at Aussie Escape Caravans a call. The do all vans and campers, repairs, servicing and mods. Top bloke too. They are at Brendale.

Mate, if you do take it to someone ask if you can watch them do it, that knowledge could come in very handy if your out the back of nowhere and need to fix it for yourself.

checking/repacking bearings is a walk in the park. very easy to do one weekend arvo.
brakes are a little fiddly but again easy enough. with a small amount of instruction.
as for adding stuff to the draw bar. there are a few places that would or otherwise just about any welder/engineer could add the gas bottles and stuff.
89 swb mav. with plenty spend on her. more needed though
2011 trackabout deluxe tourer but not quite standard. now at home.

I'm fairly handy and give most things a go but a bloke needs to know limits..

I've replaced bearings before, just a bit wary of brakes and works requiring a gas licence. Plus my spare time is limited.

Thanks for the suggestions

Booked in at Aussie Escape Caravans. First phone impression is very good, are open bright and early for a drop off, will let you know how it turns out.
