Hot Water System for Jayco Eagle
« on: July 31, 2011, 12:09:25 PM »
We're in the process of investigating the best option for installing a hot water system in our Jayco Eagle, and have a few options that obviously have different price ranges. One of the options is the Suburban 23 litre direct spark hot water unit gas/240v.

I have been advised by the company who quoted me on the above is they would install it in the front compartment under the lounge (in the corner near the battery box).  I haven't heard of them being installed in this spot before -  only seen them installed in the cupboard under the sink.  This would obviously take up kitchen space (much to SWMBO's disgust) but you lose space either way.

My question I guess is what have others done/seen?

Cheers

In Jayco Campers they generally do go under the sink area, it is best to have them as close as possible to required area.  in your case the sink.

In caravans however they seen to stick them anywhere  ???

I our case (the Expanda) it's located right next to the shower, best place for it.  Where as friend of ours the heater is up front and the shower is down the back in an 18 ft van.
