I thought you could drive a HR without doing the learners test when you have your open license as long as you put L plates on. Then answer the questions the day you do the test, that's what i did. Good for you though mate, i rather drive the trucks than the light vehicles at work. I left Roma 2 weeks before i could get my HC, i'm dirty about that! There's no semi at this depot and i don't know how to go about getting one without my own truck now

Good on ya. Don't fall into the trap they all do around here, that is going around corners a bit wide with the phone stuck in your ear.
Driver to cop:- I'm allowed to use the two way, what's the difference between the phone and the two way?

Cop :-  three points and $356, sir.

BHG you sound a bit like me ,  have good hearing to tell me to stop as soon as possible after the crunching sound . You get a bit of that in carparks & footy fields & other confined spaces .

 8) Congrats Moonie, it's good feeling to achieve a step in the right direction.  A few years ago I did the same thing, test then driving school etc.  Just remember to do the practical test in a truck with a crash box if possible otherwise it limits you later down the track.  I had to do my semi test in an old Mack cause the wouldn't give the full license without the synchro only limitation.  It was an old banger but the only crash box available at the time... something about the grime and dirt on the seatbelt had the examiner grimicing  would have preferred the Volvo.....
You deserve a medal for doing it in the traffic around Brisbane...
  Paul
