Thin grey carpet?
« on: April 28, 2011, 08:43:07 AM »
Does anyone know where to get the thin grey carpet that is used on Drifta kitchens and trailer storage drawer?  I have only looked at bunnings and they have the really thick heavy duty stuff?

Bias boating maybe?

cheers
mike

The stuff is called non backed automotive carpet, can't help you with were to get it. Mine was bought at the caravan and camping show.

I got some really thin black stuff from Kmart for my parcel shelf.
was pretty exy though.
$30 from memory for 1.2m x 3m.
I saw some stuff (was heavy duty though) in BCF on the weekend for $45 a meter and was about 2 M wide.

Cheers
Rossow.

Depends on the size of your Bunnings I think. Our local is very small and only has the thick stuff. The one in Mackay has a much bigger range and has the thinner stuff as well.

Whitworths Marine, go online and look thru their cataloque,
the thin stuff you want is called hull liner and is used up the sides of hull, the thicker stuff is marine carpet used on the floors etc and they are not much dearer than Bunnings

Hull liner is $29.90  per metre for 2 metre wide roll
Marine carpet $44.90 per metre for 2 metre wide roll
and it is water resistant and UV stabilized Bunnings is indoor carpet

No afilliation just use quite a few of their products and they are great to deal with

Hope this helps
