Billowing cover on CT

Hi all
Can any one tell me how to stop the cover on the CT from billowing up and obstructing the view to the rear? ???   There are three ties on each side the but that still dont seem to be enuf, the sides appear to be tight, but it is the top that billows up

Alph,

I run 2 of those ratchet trailer straps from front to back and that stops the billowing. Because I have my awning and awning walls under the cover, the straps help hold them in place as well.

In a later version of my CT, they have straps sewn into the sides so you can 'pull it down' on the sides of the cover. You might be able to do something similar.

Have a couple more kids, then you will need to take more stuff and store it under the cover >:D

I think the ratchet strap idea might work

We had a couple of rachet straps on the Cape york C/T worked a treat.

have some shorteners sewen into your cover. any good camper/canvas plae should be able to do it, looks good too

Mate ours has 3 straps fitted to it and what ever the load you just tension the straps up and alls good,

I have a lengh of rope  to just lash down the storm cover ,   just make an X on top . No billow less dust inside   :cheers:

I have bungee cord fastening around the edges of my cover.
I place 2 ocky straps over the top in case any air gets under the cover when driving.

I'm cautious of using ratchet straps - if you do, make sure they're tight and won't rub.

We use ratchet straps to hold the gear onto our roofrack. On a trip to Bris, we had both camp chairs up top in their bags. The straps must have been just not tight enough, and vibrated in the wind. End result - both chair bags were completely cut to shreds in a couple of hours, and the paint rubbed off the chair legs. Doesn't worry me - they're just chair bags, but I'd hate to have to replace the cover on the camper because of it.

Back in the real world, the in-laws run a ratchet strap from toolbox to tailgate on their camper, and find it works a treat. They've never had a problem, but always ensure that it's very tight.
