hi all,
i'm embarking on a woodworking project for the wife...
we are looking at making a TV unit to suit our front lounge room...
pretty simple, but she wants it to be a 'driftwood/beach wood' type of colour/finish...
i was having a look around and see that people have used milk or chalk paint to get this type of effect...
i know that milk and chalk paint are different (milk being a powder to start with and chalk being a normal style of paint)...
my reading is that some have used ordinary pine for the timber, then stained it with a dark stain, finished it with milk/chalk paint and then sanded to get an 'uneven' finish, with some of the darker stain showing through to get the right effect...
i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of finish before?
any tips or tricks?
thanks in advance...
