Interesting, segment on landline, Birds Eye and Edgell (Simplot Australia) are nearly to the stage of closing their doors. It seems they are finding it impossible to compete with other Australian companies who have relocated to New Zealand so that they can package Chinese vegetables and ship them to Australia marked as made in New Zealand, if your buying these vegetables are you aware that they are grown in China?
If Simplot goes under it will mean no Australian frozen vegetables will be grown in Australia, we will be relying totally on frozen vegetables grown overseas. I would recommend that we all buy Birds Eye or Edgell if we want to keep our growers in business even if it costs more.
