Pretty sure a lot of us are younger and of the same opinion... I'm 44, and most of my mates are similar age, and we're all cut from the same cloth...

We all own million dollar plus homes from working our fukking rings off and upgrading our properties to make the most of growing real estate markets, and we're all completely non-sympathetic to Gen Y-Me.

Not a single one of us has ever had a handout aside from our school fees being paid by our parents, and our kids are all being bought up to think the way we do

Wow, with a load of self righteous BS like that you should have been a baby boomer.

You own million dollar homes because you bought them for a quarter of what they're worth now. And you worked your rings off in a time when well paid jobs were plentiful, the work was there, and unions made sure you were well paid.

If only those lazy, selfish millenials would be more like past generations and get out of high school, slide straight into long term employment, and pay off their modern suburban homes with their 36 hour a week union job. Instead those self absorbed bastards are working 60 hour weeks in precarious employment, often 2 or 3 jobs, making $25 and hour with no overtime, paying $600 a week rent and still scraping by.

Pffft, those great, hard working generations of the past would crumble if they had to make their start again in today's conditions.

what a self indulgent load of crap !!!!

Blame the baby boomers, they had it all on easy street.............did you miss the bit where they paid 18% interest, did you miss the bit where banks wouldn't lend to them until they learned to save and became rolled gold prospects to never default a mortgage. Sorry old mate, you have no idea

Just saw an ad for a new car. Might have been a nissan. Not sure. What grabbed me tho was the Shit that was the commentary.  Having a bad day? Just switch on the lane guidance thingy so you don't have to worry what is around you. What kind of drivers are they aiming for.

Son was following us up the Bruce Highway at Christmas time. We in our cruiser and he in his new Ford Ranger. He was telling me later that he activated the car's 'adaptive cruise control' where his car kept the same distance and speed as mine.  Then we ran into a storm and very heavy rain. It was a bit hard to see and suddenly he realised I had slowed down but his car had continued to speed along and was approaching me very quickly. He had to apply his brakes and the 'adaptive cruise control' was stopped.  So it seems the Ranger's smart system could not handle the heavy rain.  Now he handled the situation fine but it got us thinking; what about when people get too use to these so called, 'safety features'!   A bit scary.   Kevin

Mate, I'm from your generation and totally disagree with you!  I feel I'm in a better position than my parents were ever in at my age and I don't work nearly as hard as my father did in particular.

That's interesting, if the Outback loses track of the car ahead it provides a visible and audible warning. It's not fool proof, I've tested in under many conditions and except for multi lane roundabouts it does a good job.
I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go…

Work - Outback
Play - Prado

Yeah, you reckon I'm a self righteous asshole... I have no degree, my first decent paid job was as a rouseabout and general farm hand.  Now I work in IT, having driven trucks, been a sales rep in 3 industries, worked as a builders labourer and I'm self taught in everything I do, and I have never worked in a union shop

Oh, and for my first house, I was paying 22% interest as it's the only way I could get finance as I couldn't afford a minimum deposit, and I wanted my own real estate, rather than paying off someone else's mortgage.

So I know nothing, I'll shut up.  Apologies to the original poster.  Mods, feel free to delete my posts in this thread
