Anyone been to Seven Emu Station -NT

I am sorry if I am repeating info but I don't have Facebook and therefore can't see Jules info.

A group of us stayed there in July for 3 nights. It was $50/night and for that you get a basic camp area which is roomy and private (next camp would be a hundred metres or more away). There is a rough shelter built for shade, a campfire area, and a shower/dunny where the shower is heated by a donkey boiler. Seven Emus supplied the fire wood. The camp area is set on a cliff overlooking the river, which you have access to if you fancy a fish. No swimming as the snappy handbags are in residence. Boat launching is allowed but costs several hundred dollars. Water is on tap.

This is not a place for the action minded, but more a place to soak up the scenery and enjoy the great weather.

Thanks everyone......tossing up whether to go back to Lorella Springs or go somewhere new like this...don't have a boat though and it would only be 1 or 2 nights.....

But looking at Bruce's thread, it is worth considering....mind u $50 per night is a lot for what it is....

Hi Mark, I love Limenbight river fishing camp I have been there a couple of times over the years $50 a week per 4wd 1 or 20 in your 4wd, Good fishing and banana prawns off the bank with your cast net, its on the NT side of L Springs, Craig

Thanks for this info, we obviously didn't read the website closely enough. We thought that there were only the 6 sites around where we stayed. We knew that there was a big price to pay for launching a boat (we didn't have one), but the property didn't mention the fishing spots down further (maybe the river was too high to get through).

Seven Emu is really more for the fishing enthusiast.  Lorella is more Tourist orientated.  We enjoyed them both, but seven Emu was better fishing, and very special in its own way.

A little confused about the prices, now the way I read it - if you camp at one of the sites with shower, toilet etc it is $50 a vehicle per night ok. But this is where I am a bit confused - camp anywhere else it is $500 up to a month or is the $500 just to launch you boat !!!!!!

That’s the way I read it $50/car/night in one of the established campsites

$500/month/camp anywhere and you can launch your boat.

Id say $50 a night to stay up on the freshwater camp sites, Which is fine if you just want to stay a couple of nights, But If you are into your saltwater fishing for Barra and Jacks and threadfin salmon and finger mark and crabbing, you pay $500 for up to a month per 4wd and you can drive down along the river to where it meets the salt water and there is good camps there and you can launch your boat there, thats about 10 to 30ks down the river, from the owners camp,  It use to be $300 a month but it was getting fished out the owner put the price up 1/2 the amount of people go down there now and the fishing is fantastic again, Craig
