Just an update. I ended up getting the hex pegs.

Couldnt be bothered making up my own with washers and stuff. The quality is great. Tried them in my back yard and they work superb. For harder stuff you can even use hammer drill mode if needed. Pretty happy and no more hammers needed woohoo

Ground was so hard at Copley when I was last there that I went through about 8-10 bent normal style pegs before I was setup completely..
To say I was ****ed off with the whole situation and ready to go home was an understatement.

So now camping is turning into a construction site too.. hard hats, safety glasses and fluro vests first ??? Anything else we need to carry?  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Come on Bird.  you,ve been around long enough to know that before any work is done the site must be protected...so, witches hats, signage and barriers needed as well.
Having lots of friends on farcebook is the same as having lots of money in monopoly...means absolutely nothing!!
