G,Day GG Welcome back mate,  You may have seen this or may not,  My brother [ Ex Australian Army Training Team Vietnam   ] gave me a copy of this DVD that he was given at a PTSD councelling conference some years ago ..
It may help give some understanding for you or others .. Need to watch all the videoettes  down the side too .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FwLpcpXNdM&list=PL88C7CD6409EBAE1E ..
All the best mate .

I would just like to say good on you for being open about it, it really helps for others to know that there are people out there dealing with similar things.

My son didn't want anyone to know he had depression except us, none of his friends or extended family. And he wouldn't get help because he thought it would mean he is week. Last year he hit breaking point and tried to commit suicide, thank you to our wonder police force searching and locating him we still have our beautiful son. The upside is family and friends now know because of it and I think he now realises the burden has somewhat lifted. He talks about it more now. A long road ahead but we are working on it.

So thank you to people like you who a strong enough to come forward I feel there is hope.

Hi GG. As LB said, Good on you for talking about your problems :cup:

Nowhere as dramatic, but I had a work accident just on 3 years ago, that left me with a permanent (even if reasonably minor) impairment, that has meant the finish of my working life, as well as stopping my Volunteer Rescue role. :'(

After that, I was suffering from a lot of stress. Got referred to a Counsellor, so went along or the first session, frankly not expecting much. I was wrong! She just talked & let me talk, have a sob, then talk more, but those several sessions made an amazing difference, just by getting stuff out, & her advice of how to get around things & so on.

If you haven't already seen one, please ask your GP for a referral, go along & have a talk.

Hope it helps

Good luck
