Hayman Reece / McHitch Setup

OK swaggers,

Is this acceptable [my gut feels = not] or do the chains have to hang vertical to the bars. I am having trouble with the setup of my new McHitch to the A frame as I have very limited room. My only other option left is to weld the jockey wheel holder to the frame if they need to be hanging straight down.

How big is your van?   Do you really need WDH?

This may help .. seems some have the chains running at an angle at the #6:14 mark in this vid ...  Seems so long as you have the required minimum ground clearance to the ends of the bars, is whats more important  .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DC-lfNnKf4

Thanks edz, never thought to look online for a solution, handy vid.

Myles, I have a rear fold chinese kimberly that is very heavy on the tow ball. A WDH just makes the load more ballanced  and easier to tow.

I thought that the WDH would cancel out any benefit of the McHitch, afterall you should be removing the WDH Off Road & even when navigating driveways etc.

Those bars look a bit shorter than mine. Pretty sure they come in different lengths.  I am going to change to the McHitch on my Starcraft after seeing Swannies setup.

  **   IMPORTANT **  to note that they need to be disconnected when getting into articulated off road tracks ..
See what happened to the Gall boys at # 3:40 mark in this vid clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2rfd_fEyxc
They actualy snapped / tore the Heyman Reece toungue box receiver section completely off the tow bar by leaving the load share bars on .

Have seen a frames broken by having them too tight, so be good idea to remove the before going over undulating ground
