G'day from Perth WA
« on: October 14, 2016, 04:39:58 PM »
G'day all

Been reading posts on this site for ages so thought I'd join to make it official.

Started touring the UK as a 5YO with my family, came to Aus shortly after and joined scouts, learnt the essentials and enjoyed the camping life. Did a lot of camping as soon as I had my license with mates and girlfriend (now wife). Took a break to enjoy life and then along came kids..

At 40 I convinced the wife to let me get a soft floor camper, unfortunately couldn't support Aussie manufactures due to the lack of money, so bought 1 of those well known Chinese imports. With a fabrication background I gave it a good look-over and was reasonably happy. Since then I have done various mods to get it the way I want (will most likely post them up).

Last year I bough an FZJ80 Cruiser to tow the camper and 'modded hell out of it' telling the wife "well we need to explore when camping....".

Now at 42 we've crammed in 2 years worth of camping in it, almost every long weekend! Definitely getting the use out of it. We've just come back from a Gascoyne Tour stopping at Wooramel, Exmouth, Coral bay, Kennedy Range and Kalbarri. Now we have a mighty thirst for exploring!

Anyway, look forward to chatting with you all.

Cheers
Scotty

Gday Scotty,

You have visited some great areas!! I am of to Sharks Bay in a couple weeks for a week of relaxation and learning to catch fish, most importantly a week of chilling out on the beach. All the best in your travels.
