G'day from SA
« on: October 04, 2016, 08:59:34 PM »
So, first-time postie on MySwag. Just wanted to say g'day to everyone.

For the past few years I have been working on convincing the wife that we need to upgrade from the tent to a camper trailer and start exploring this great country. We are probably not the first couple to get a bit tired after a while of unpacking and packing the tent at every campsite we drop into to. First few nights under the stars is always awesome, but tent living does have it's limits with us.

The draw of a folding camper trailer has become very appealing, as is the prospect of freeing ourselves of the amenities of campsites and exploring some bush camping for a change. The wife has finally given in to me and has sanctioned the purchase of a camper trailer ... at the right price. She has however stipulated that it has to be 'new' and it has to be forward fold/dinette type. So, here I am, on a mission to gather as much advice to help us find the perfect camper... for us!

I'm still finding my way around the site so please bear with me. I gather that users take interest in the tow vehicles of it's posters. Our tow vehicle is a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Maximum tow capacity 2200kg. Equipped with Brake Controller and Anderson Plug..

I'm keen to start to canvass and offer my opinions on CT's so I'll continue this conversation on another thread.

I'd put a clever signature here if I knew one and knew how to do it !! ???

Later,

Scotty

Thank you Sol and KB, I'll take a look at that "Eco" one, it's one that's seems to be absent from my very long list!!

Oh, and no pity needed KB. I am extremely happy with the Jeep mate  ;D

G'day Scotty. It might help people to give you suggestions about campers if you tell us what your approximate budget is. No doubt as you've been investigating options, you've seen the price of forward folds can vary a fair bit.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've posted on another thread about the quest for the ideal camper trailer. Some good advice and recommendations coming in.

Thanks again.
