Hello from WA
« on: September 12, 2017, 07:43:53 PM »
Hello all,

Another new member from WA.
We have been camping for many years with our trusted Landcruiser 80 series and a large variety of tents. First with the kids but there are now only two of us on these trips.
However, last year we decided that we would change from tenting to trailering.
So we bought a Goldstream Sandvan, and to make towing easier, I just replaced the Landcruiser with a Mazda BT-50.
I have to admit that it pains me to see the Landcruiser go. It's an amazing sturdy beast, but more suited for bush-bashing than pulling a trailer over tarmac and gravel roads. And the Mazda is stronger and more comfortable.
So with the new car it's kitting up time again. I have a bit of mixed feelings about this, it's really exciting to do  ;D but one always spent a lot more than planned :(
Anyway, I'm sure I will get some inspiration from the discussions here.

Fantastic another Goldstream in WA.  We purchased a Wing 3 last year.  We have only managed a few short trips so far.  Love our camper and have been really impressed with it so far.  It has withstood heavy rain, wind, hail and a little sunshine so far...

Looking forward to many trips away in the years to come.  Our children are also now adults, so enjoying the luxury of the camper, we had been "tenters" until our recent purchase.

Thanks for the warm welcome people.
The weather is finally improving here in WA, so it's time to venture out into the wild again, probably a trip to see the wildflowers.

And yes MD, We love our Goldstream Sandvan too, it's a great camper. Would even be perfect if they brought some of the engineering designs from the 60's to the present day  ;D
