OK, I NEED TO KNOW.

Would an "Esk Races Getaway" on the 17th of December be too close to Xmas and would the School holidays stop us from getting a decent turn out?

We'd be using the Esk Caravan Park as our base.

Why would they run a race event that close to Xmas?
We'll be busy with family we won't see over Xmas that weekend, so can't make it.

Yeah.... I was more concerned about the 17th being so close to the fat bastard coming down the chimney.
