Southern Cross Camper Trailers
« on: October 25, 2015, 10:26:25 PM »
Hi

Does anyone have any experience (good or otherwise) with southern cross camper trailers in WA (these is a different mob to Southern Cross Campers over east)? I’m am looking at this http://www.sccampertrailers.com.au/camper-trailers/view/karijini-indy-independent-suspension-soft-floor-camper-trailer , seems to be reasonable for the price but can’t find much/ anything on the web by way of reviews. According to their website they have been around for ~4 years.

Looking to use on an Oz trip off road next year.

Cheers

Pete

i had two of them rock up next to me at Homevalley stn in the Kimberley this year when they were doing a Rn D trip.
One thing that stuck out was the gas bottle was mounted off the rear wheel carrier.
They had a few issues with wiring as the trailer plug popped out and got damaged but this can happen to any brand trailer.
They did have issues with dust ingress into the kitchen area, but im sure they wouldve looked into this issue?
Regards
Angus.

As a carpenter I know nothing about welding but is this a good example?
Taken from their own website.

They are Chinese made.
Bolted draw bars are average, but if you're going to your local Big 4 then you will be fine.
Flog up n down the major dirt tracks around Aus, you may want to look at something else?
