not a fan of cordless toys anymore... I have 4 cordless drills that were cheaper to replace than to buy new batteries.
and if you don't use/charge them semi regularly (EG: home handyman) they just fade away
Battery V's tool cost on the cheap stuff is a big factor. Idle batteries dying was an issue for the old ni cad and nimh stuff, not really an issue anymore with the lithium stuff.
When looking at a new cordless set. Forget about the tool features, the important stuff us the quality and features on the batteries and charger.
I got 8 years of trade use from Panasonic 15.6V nimh cordless drill batteries. The original 18V Lithium batteries in my Makita set has also just given up after 8 years, 3 of which were trade use. Pretty good innings.
