One for swannie... or 100 series owner
« on: January 01, 2016, 06:14:00 PM »
Got a question to help a mate out,his hundie electric sunroof wouldnt close from the rear tilt position and we played around with it today to no avail even after some googillidge.
While playing with it we noticed the glass had come unstuck from the front and sides of the frame but still didnt seem to be the issue with the shutting thing.
On the way home from my place today the wind caught the glass and smashed it against the roofrack.
Hes just come home from the big lap with his family because he was diagnosed with a rare white blood cell cancer in darwin and they have enough stress going on and not a load of cash as they are going to bali that was prebooked to finish off thier family trip of a life time.
Hes not aware that im making enquiries on his behalf but from what i read they are expensive to fix so i was hoping someone could hook me up with a fix for this even if it never opens again hell be cool but we just need to get it water tight and of course a non genuine replacement glass if possible.

Realy apreciate any help or advice i can get here to help a good mate doing it a bit tough.
Cheers Dale

Hey Dale not good news mate, unfortunately sunroofs are s royal pain hence why most auto glass companies stay away from them and advise to go back to manufacturer. Genuinely the sunroofs like mine on the 80 are dealer fitted and most likely from someone like prestige sunroofs. An alternative is to make up a template & get a peice of lexan (strong Perspex) as an alternative. Or need to get the full sunroof assembly second hand and fit

No probs bud i assumed youd point us in the right direction.
On ih8mud its over 2grand to do the cables plus now his glass is rooted so might point him in the lexian direcon.

Never been a fan of sunroofs, especialy electric ones
