Leaking roof
« on: November 13, 2015, 03:34:24 PM »
Hi everyone, I have just discovered a leak from the solar wiring junction box of my Jayco Outback Swan.
The wiring box was installed in the Melbourne factory and the van was bought brand new in June 2012.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so what can I do to fix the damage to the interior. Obviously I can re silicone on the top but still need to fix the interior.
I have had a jayco repairer asess the minor damage and he agrees that its a faulty install but the van is obviuosly out of warranty and tge van has sat under cover for 12 months so the service record is not up to date.
Any advice would be appreciated

I have contacted Jayco, one of their accredited repairers has been out to asess as mentioned before but just wondering if anyone had experienced this too. The repairer has said it will cost around $1700 to replace the ceiling.
I can replace the ceiling of my lounge, bedroom and man den for that price.

I was thinking i could instal another roof hatch and move the wiring box as a cheaper alternative.

I.am impressed, very impressed.
Jayco have authorised the repairs at no cost to me.
I sent them the service history ans along with the report they agreed it was a factory issue.

Got to say a big thankyou to them and the guys at East Coast Rv on the Gold Coast. East Coast called in to my house to check it out and saved me a trip for a 5. minute inspection.
 Happy dayz

I've heard of this being done more than once before.
