Getting rid of mould/mildew stains

Someone help!

Opened the trailer up and mould everywhere..

So this weekend ive let it dry (3 days of complete sun exposure), today cleaned the mould with white vinegar.
In the tougher areas pure white vinegar..
As read from other posts.great results!

But! The stains still remain on the white canvas!



How in the blight of me are you supposed to get it off?

I used a 50-50 mix of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on my camper with success, but did not try it on the canvas as there was no mould on it. But it definitely kills mould.

Same problem with my RTT. Small patch of mould. Got rid of the mould easily with some canvas cleaner from anaconda but not the stain.
The dealer I bought my camper from had one cheap that was stained like yours. Was a very very good price because of the stain on the roof. He ended up replacing the tent as he could not get rid of the stain and no one would buy it in that condition.
Really hope you find a solution.

Cannot help with the stain. But to help prevent mould when giving things a quick wipe down or clean, on canvas, tarps etc  even clothes we mix in some vinegar with water to prevent mould.

I had some decent mould stains on an old canvas camper we had.

Did a bit of internet research and ended up making a spray mix using 'oil of cloves' (half teaspoon) into 1 litre water. Spray, let dry, think i brushed it with a stiff broom then repeated the process again several times. Think I did it over a few days as we had a sunny week happening. It definitely reduced the stain that was there.

Alternatively some people have had luck with a spray using tea tree oil and water.

One part bleach to twenty parts water. Might / might not remove the stain, try and stay away from stitching, will reduce its life drastically. Best to re waterproof afterwards.

We had the same issue with our camper after finding (the hard way) that our tent cover wasn't UV stabilised.

We tried a 10:1 mix of water and white vinegar as that's meant to leave the waterproofing undamaged but kill the mould and spores. Unfortunately the mould came back after we did it.

To get rid of the mould we used a product from COI Leisure called Mould Rid (you can get it at Anaconda). We then retreated the canvas using their waterproofing product. I think this last step may not actually have been necessary, but the tent certainly now sheds water like no man's business.

It was an absolute bugger of a job as you need to de-mould both sides of the canvas, hose it down and let it dry completely before you can apply the waterproofing. But the mould has not returned (been 9 months).

In terms of the stains, I believe a mix of water and bicarbonate soda (made into a paste) is meant to make it less noticeable,  but I'm yet to try it.

I would give a "magic eraser" a try. I have trialed  them to remove red dust stains, while it was only a quick try I had success. Cheap shops often have a version that may be worth trying.

here's a couple of the linkies i found when sourcing a solution for mine.
main benefit using oil of cloves solution - i didn't have to re-waterproof it. We've since gone camping where it has rained no end and we didn't get a single leak and considering the mould was on the side of the bed area and around the windows etc, we would've known straight away.
