MSA 4x4
« on: August 07, 2015, 10:47:35 AM »
I know there are some old MSA threads however just took the plunge and bought a roof top tourer bag and some stubbie and can covers.

The roof top tourer bag is awesome quality, all of the gear appears to be.  Hosing it down today to start seasoning.  The additional cover over the top is also pretty good gear.  Heaps of buckles etc.  Will be good to be able to throw in the chairs, sleeping bags, tents etc

Are these all made and stitched etc in Australia?  Couldn't see any Made In tags anywhere.

Cheers

We got one of those as well and used it a couple of times.
They are great.
However since owning the CT we don't use it anymore.
Maybe thinking of selling it.

I have been looking at these as well. I see the 4WD supacentre has cheaper ones but I gather the quality is not as good as the MSA one

I bought a MSA roofrack bag about 5 years back, they are a very well made unit IMHO. The thick rubber base they have is a great idea, my old Bushranger roofrack bag i had before the MSA one rubbed holes through it's base pretty quickly on our Cape York trip. Haven't used mine in a few years now, like with Wilsurf i probably should look at selling mine, though it's hard to get rid of something you know is well made, even though you aren't using it...lol.

Yep about to pull the trigger on seat covers for the prado, looked at some other local made products, which were way cheaper, but lighter canvas and the fit didn't look as good.

Based at Gold Coast and believe Aussie made.

I agree, MSA is good quality.  I've got the seat covers.  60,000kms of bums sliding in and out and they're going great.

Thanks guys.  I might look at the seat covers also.  Bought som echeaper canvas style ones that I have had for around 60k.  The drivers side bum where it attaches to the side split pretty early on so swapped it over to the passenger side.  A lot of mesh tyupe material on he sides appears tyo be pretty flimsy.

May look at the MSA seat covers again.

We probably don't use ourt camper enough these days.  We have started doing some more overnight camping so bought a RV-5 and some BW self inflating mattresses. Can throw it all in the MSA bag and know it will be dry.  Next year looking at 4 weeks to the cape and we're happy to camp.

I would assume the Kings are not quite as heavy duty for that price however I have not seen in the flesh. The MSA has good canvas, velcro all around the zipper, and another cover that goes over it again. 10 large seatbelt strap size clips all join in the middle of the main bag and then the cover has numerous smaller clips again.  Good thick base also as Rumpig mentioned.  Pretty impressive.

Maybe I should have put up a wanted to buy thread.

Cheers

Gotya Covers here in Perth good quality seat coveres. I think she worked for Black Duck and started out on her own.
Well made and fit the seats perfectly. Excellent price and service.
Done 30k on them and their like new.

I've got a set of MSA covers on the front of my Patrol, Very good quality and an excellent fit, but unfortunatly they were pretty $$$$$$

I got a set of "SUPAFIT" covers for the back, definatly not as good a quality, and the fit and finish isnt as good, the MSA ones are cotton lined on the back the protect the seat fabric, the supafit ones aren't, (and i don't think the gotya's are either) but they were half the price - and considering its usually just 'stuff' and the dog in the back, they are fine for that.. if the back was getting used more I'm now educated enough on the two products to justify to myself coughing up the extra $$ for the MSA rears aswell
